The Little One [Autumn / 2025]
This project focused on the rebranding 2025 and logo design for The Little One, a family-owned café that roasts its own coffee and bakes all of its pastries inhouse. The main goal of the rebrand was to help the café stand out against the backdrop of black-and-white buildings, appeal to a wider audience, and accurately reflect its values. As a family-run business, the brand needed to feel welcoming, comforting, and approachable for its customers

A rebrand project for a café that wanted its identity to feel more like the place itself — warm, welcoming and comforting. The old branding felt quite generic and didn’t have much personality, so I wanted to create something that felt more personal and inviting.

I redesigned the logo around a small star, representing something simple but special, and created a custom typeface inspired by the café’s freshly baked goods. I experimented with using flour to shape the letters, giving the typography a more playful, handmade feel.

The colour palette came from little moments of comfort: a warm pastry, a ceramic mug, soft wool and a hot cup of coffee all bringing a cosy and familiar feeling into the identity.

When revising the logo I decided to create a custom typeface to better reflect
the café’s personality. I experimented with flour to form the letter shapes, taking
inspiration from the baked goods made on-site. This gave the typeface a playful, handcrafted quality that feels warm, welcoming and perfectly suited to the café’s character.
